COVID-19 Safety Response

NCADA cares deeply

about the safety and health...

Of our students, faculty, and staff. For the past 42 years, our goal has always been to provide our students with the best dance experience possible. To accomplish that goal for our 2021-22 season, NCADA is implementing a COVID-19 Safety Plan with strict guidelines and specific protocols to insure the well being of everyone.

NCADA Parent Information

  • Student Update: NCADA requests that parents notify us if your child has a pre-existing medical condition (including recent injuries), traveled internationally within 14 days of class, or is experiencing a fever or symptoms of Covid-19.

  • Liability Waiver: Once student(s) is registered, parents will receive a COVID-19 liability waiver. Waiver must be signed and returned before a student can begin in person class at NCADA.

  • Mask Requirement for 2-4 years of age: NCADA supports the decision of the parent(s) for children age 2-4 years of age on the use of a mask during class. Transitional spaces for our Toddlers and Toes, Pre Ballet I, Pre Ballet II will require a mask during entrance into the building to their classroom and then again when exiting the classroom to exiting the building. We based this decision on the CDC's guidance for children between the age of 2-4 years old and discussions with Pre-School Directors and teachers in both public and private schools. All NCADA faculty, staff, and assistants will be required to wear a mask at all times.

  • Mask Requirement for 5-18+ years of age: NCADA will require all students enrolled in our Beginning levels - Advanced levels : Ages 5-18+ to wear a mask at all times while inside our facility.

  • Tuition Payments: In order to limit the number of people in the building, we suggest setting up an automatic withdrawal or sending payment via check in the mail. All payments made in person must be taken care of prior to the start of class or by appointment only.

  • Class Size: Will be governed to provide ample social distancing. NCADA will be monitoring class sizes closely.

  • Virtual Options: Online/Virtual classes will be available for those that prefer in home learning or are unable to attend in person class. We are currently researching a new platform for our Virtual Learning option and will confirm a schedule by August 24, 2020. More information coming soon!

  • Arrival Reminders: Entrance: use front door entrance when entering the building. Drop off lane allows students to walk down walkway to front door. Parent/Guardian MUST park in a parking space IF necessary to accompany young child (3-6 years) to front entrance. Students must arrive in appropriate class attire: no coverups, hair must be secured out of face for specific class, no jewelry, no additional bags if possible. Encourage bathroom trip BEFORE arrival. Bring personal water.

  • Departure Reminders: Exit: use side door for pick-up and when exiting the building. Drop-off lane and Pick-up lane are the same lane and MUST continue to move. Parent/Guardian must park in a parking space to pick up their young child (3-6 years) at Exit. Students must be picked up on time. Sanitation stations will be available at side exits.

NCADA Cleaning Procedures

  • Studios A, B, C, D, E, lobbies, hallways, offices, dressing rooms, and bathrooms will be PROFESSIONALLY cleaned every morning.

  • Door handles, knobs, bathroom vanities, and toilets will be cleaned with approved disinfectant cleaners daily.

  • All floors will be cleaned with an antibacterial solution recommended for dance floors and high "traffic areas" 2x a week. (This is in addition to daily cleaning.)

  • Class times are adjusted to allow a short break down between each class to thoroughly disinfect the door knobs, benches, barres, and designated bathrooms.

  • Entrance doors/handles and Exit doors/handles are cleaned between class arrivals and class departures.
